Roses + pearls + rhinestones = romance.
For this hair piece, I was to make a small comb so that did not compete with the overall bridal look but subtly sparkled in the hair. The bride-to-be specifically requested two small flowers and no drama.
I started off by making two 1" wide roses out of white satin and tulle with pearls and small rhinestones in the centre. Trios of boat-shaped rhinestones peeking out on either side of the two flowers add a little sparkle factor. Pearl and clear Swarovski crystal twigs also add some subtle shine add visual interest. I also included an small pin with a couple of pearl twigs and rhinestone boats, just in case the bride wanted to add sparkle elsewhere in her hair, or if she simply wanted to add length to her comb, which is what she ultimately decided to do. Overall, this comb is pretty, sweet, romantic, and has just enough presence to be noticed without being "too much".
