Rose gold and white make the perfect match.
The inspiration for this comb came from a photo that a customer had sent to me of a hair piece worn at the back of the head and low, just above the neck. Due to poor image quality, the details of the hair piece in the photo were difficult to decipher, but it was obvious I was to make a comb featuring two flowers with leaves and beaded twigs.
For my version of this hair piece, I began by making two small satin flowers with clusters of tiny pearls in their centres. For the leaves, I decided that, instead of making them out of seed beads, I would use white fabric leaves (that I purchase from a supplier) and added veins to each by twisting rose gold wire. As in the inspiration photo, I made twigs using three different sizes of pearls and clear beads. With a total length of approximately 10", not only can this piece be worn at the base of the head over a cascading veil (as shown in the inspiration photo), but also as a headband, it can be placed vertically at the back or side of the head with the hair swept to one side, or in any orientation with an up do. With the twisted wire as the skeleton, its shape can be adjusted as necessary (into an S-shape for example). The combination of the rose gold wire with white flowers and pearls is right on point with the current trend.
