Custom made "westie" Christmas tree skirt.

Having already made a couple of Christmas-related items for her already, a customer approached me and asked if I could make a specific kind of Christmas tree skirt. She was looking for one that would feature two white westie dogs on it. Below is the photo she had sent me as an example of what she had in mind.

We both felt the skirt in the photo needed some updating so after some collective brainstorming, my instructions were to make it traditional/modern with traditional Christmas colours; red and green, and the two dogs in white. 

I selected a red plaid for the main colour and a green pine cone print for the edge. As I worked on the skirt, I felt that it needed a finishing touch, and with the customer's permission, I added the burlap ruffle along the perimeter. Finally, I added white silhouettes of westie dogs around the edge and accented with a burlap and shimmery red burlap bow.
